Pie Day at The Sign Group™: Pastry, Pieminister, and a Proper Natter

The whole team downed tools for Pieminister pies and a proper catch-up away from the workbench. Here's what was on the menu, and how Pie Day went.

We decided to swap the usual summer barbecue for something different this year: Pieminister pies, delivered fresh and hot, and a proper chance to catch up away from the workbench.

Here at The Sign Group™, our creative noggins and sign-making aficionados don't often get a reason to down tools together, so when the pies turned up, everyone made the most of it.

On the menu

  • Moo, the classic steak, and their best-seller
  • Moo & Blue, steak and Stilton
  • Kate & Sidney, and yes, they own the pun
  • Deer & Beer, Old Skool Banger and Free Ranger for something different
  • Fungi Chicken and Wild Shroom for the mushroom fans
  • Heidi and The Greek for a change of pace
  • Big Cheese, Mooless Moo and Chana Rama for the vegetarians and vegans
  • Gluten-free versions across most of the range, so nobody missed out

The plan for the day
The whole team waited eagerly for the "go go go" email telling everyone the pies were ready. Once it landed, everyone headed up to the new'ish canteen together, away from desks and the shop floor for a bit. Next came the hunt to find your pie among the lot, then it was straight to the big table for everyone to sit down and tuck into the glorious feast: warm, full pies, plenty of mash and lots and lots of gravy, with a few mushy peas thrown in too.

All in all, it was a nice way to bring everyone together and have some proper team time away from the day job.
