Infinity letters and shapes: depth that isn't really there

Infinity letters and shapes use mirrors and LED to create a tunnel of light that appears to go on forever, from a sign only millimetres deep. Here is how the effect works, and where it earns its place.

Some signs stop people mid-stride. Infinity letters and shapes are one of them. Look into one and the light seems to fall away into a tunnel that goes on forever, when it is really only a few millimetres deep. Here is how the trick works, and where it is worth using.

How the effect works
It is done with two mirrors and a run of LED between them. One mirror is fully reflective, the other is a two-way mirror on the face. The light bounces back and forth between the two, and each reflection looks a little further away, which reads to the eye as endless depth. No smoke, no screens, just physics and a tidy build.

Letters, logos or shapes
The effect works in letterforms, logos and geometric shapes, so it can carry a brand name, a single icon or a feature panel. It suits anything where you want a bit of theatre without a moving part in sight.

Where it earns its place
Reception walls, bar backs, retail feature areas and event pieces, anywhere people pause and look. Because the depth is an illusion, you get a showpiece that still sits close to the wall, which matters when space is tight.

Built to last
Like the rest of what we make, these are built in-house and made to keep working. An LED light source means low energy and a long life, with no fragile tubes to worry about.

Best seen in person
A photo never quite does an infinity piece justice, the depth only really lands when you are stood in front of one. We have infinity letters and shapes on the wall in our meeting room, lit and ready to look at. See infinity letters and shapes on our site, or come and see the effect for yourself.
